Detailed Product Description *Summer Book 7* (2nd edition) is for students entering the seventh grade. It contains fifty pages of activities. The top half of each page reviews math concepts. The bottom half of each page reviews language concepts. There are thinking skills or reading comprehension exercises on the back of each page. A complete answer key is located at the back of the book and may be easily removed. Some of the math concepts reviewed are: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals finding the lowest common multiple graphing working with prime numbers working with percentages converting measures solving word problems rounding numbers using divisibility rules factoring numbers balancing a checkbook Some of the grammar and writing concepts reviewed are: identifying the eight parts of speech identifying subjects, direct objects, indirect objects, predicate nominatives, and objects of the preposition action, linking and helping verbs verb tenses diagraming antecedents synonyms, antonyms, homonyms possessive words punctuation singular and plural capitalization types of sentences writing paragraphs outlining optional book report Whole Numbers to Percents, Level C, helps students conquer "dreaded" math word problems by teaching them when and how to apply the math operations they already know to real-life situations. The developmentally sequenced problems in each book are arranged so they cannot be solved by rote processes. Each problem requires its own thinking/problem-solving approach rather than applying the same solution process to entire groups of problems. Brain Bender III is a fast-paced challenge. Roll the dice and add, subtract, multiply or divide to find a solution before your opponent! This game is wonderful brain exercise and a great alterntive to flashcards and workbooks pages.
